Executive Committee

The Faculty Senate Executive Committee plays a vital role in supporting the work of the Faculty Senate at NC State. This elected group of faculty leaders helps plan, coordinate, and guide the Senate’s work throughout the academic year, ensuring that faculty voices are represented and that shared governance remains strong and effective.

Made up of the Chair of the Faculty, the Chair-Elect, the Associate Chair of the Faculty Senate, and eight Faculty Senate members elected by their peers, the Executive Committee prepares the agenda for each Faculty Senate meeting. It does not typically initiate Faculty Senate actions on its own but is charged with developing long-range plans for Senate activities and acting on the Senate’s behalf, as authorized, when the full body is not in session.

To ensure transparency and accountability, the Executive Committee reports regularly on its activities and decisions to the full Faculty Senate and General Faculty. The Chair and Associate Chair of the Faculty Senate also serve in those roles for the Executive Committee, strengthening alignment and communication between the Senate and its leadership team.
