UNC Faculty Assembly
Founded in 1972 by UNC System President William Friday, the UNC Faculty Assembly serves as an advisory group on issues that affect the entire UNC System.
The UNC Faculty Assembly provides guidance to the President, the UNC System Office, the Board of Governors, the North Carolina General Assembly, and UNC faculty and administrative leaders across all campuses.
Besides offering advice and recommendations, Faculty Assembly members often work closely with the UNC System Office by serving on working groups, policy committees, and personnel committees. The Assembly also helps nominate faculty members to support important UNC System projects and initiatives.
The UNC Faculty Assembly typically meets six times during each academic year. Elected delegates from the 17 UNC System institutions meet from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Fridays via Zoom or at a designated meeting site. Terms begin on July 1 and expire on June 30 of the year indicated below.
