Committees
The Faculty Senate has four standing committees. The chairs of these committees serve along with the officers to form the Executive Committee.
ACADEMIC pOLICY COMMITTEE

The Academic Policy Committee helps shape the academic experience at NC State by reviewing and advancing policies that impact teaching, learning, research, and faculty success. Its responsibilities span undergraduate and graduate education, instructional innovation, faculty evaluation and advising, academic regulations, and the university’s academic calendar across on-campus and off-campus learning environments.

The Governance, Communications, and Recruitment Committee strengthens faculty engagement in shared governance by guiding Senate communications, expanding outreach efforts, and recruiting new members. The committee works to ensure faculty are informed, connected, and represented in the university community.
PERSONNEL POLICY COMMITTEE

The Personnel Policy Committee supports faculty success by advising university leaders and recommending policies that shape faculty careers. Its work focuses on appointments, compensation, promotion and tenure, performance review, and other key employment matters affecting NC State faculty.
RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE

The Resources & Environment Committee works to enhance the quality of life and work across NC State by advising on the management of university resources and the campus environment. The committee’s focus includes facilities and outdoor spaces, safety, transportation, housing and student life, technology infrastructure, and broader issues such as academic freedom and intellectual property, helping ensure a supportive and thriving campus community.
