Resolution for the Board of Governors Teaching Award
to include Non-Tenure Track Faculty

Whereas only tenured faculty are eligible to receive the Board of Governors Teaching award at University of North Carolina campuses; and

Whereas at North Carolina State University, tenure-track and non-tenure track faculty are eligible for campus teaching awards; and

Whereas non-tenure track faculty contribute extensively and effectively to the teaching mission of North Carolina State University;

Therefore be it resolved that the Faculty Senate of North Carolina State University recommends that full-time non-tenure track and tenure track faculty should be eligible for the Board of Governors Award for Excellence in Teaching, thus recognizing their contributions  and sending a message of inclusion to our campus community.
