Resources and Environment

The Resources & Environment Committee advises the Chair of the Faculty and the General Faculty on matters related to how the university’s resources are allocated and managed, as well as how the overall campus environment is maintained and improved. The “environment” is understood broadly — it includes not only the physical campus and facilities but also the workplace and living climate that shapes the daily experience of faculty, staff, and students.

Areas of focus include the campus physical plant, outdoor spaces, campus safety, transportation and parking, retail services like the bookstore, student housing and student life, and the availability and support of technological resources such as computing and networking. The committee also considers broader issues that impact the university community, such as academic freedom and the ownership of work created as part of employment or study at NC State.
